September 2007 Archives
I'm headed back to Montana for some recruiting at the School of Business Administration. I started at KPMG in January 2006 as one of two former Grizzlies to join the SF Advisory practice. Since then, we've hired more than four other full time employees plus three summer interns! Pretty amazing for an un-ranked school in the middle of nowhere, wouldn't you say?
I think the greatest part of my role is the trip back during Homecoming week - you really can't beat that!
I met up with the two women I walked with in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in July. Patty, Sue, and I took the ferry to Angel Island and walked the five miles around the perimeter. We also checked out some of the abandoned buildings from when the island was a military base in WWII. Despite the cloudy weather, it was a lovely day.
Congratulations to my dear friends David and Bethany Goss on their beautfiul wedding. I celebrated with them on September 1 in Florence, Oregon. I made the seven hour drive to Brookings on Friday and then drove three more hours to Florence on Saturday morning.
While in Brookings I met my new cousin Noah Kai and spent some time with my uncle Lee and cousin Alexa.
I also got to see Gus, who has put on a few pounds since I saw him last. Check out this picture compared to him as a puppy!
The wedding ceremony was at an estate on Woahink Lake, followed by a lovely reception. I wish I could have stayed later but had to turn around for another long drive home. My friendship with Bethany goes back many years and she is one of my dearest friends. I am so happy that she has found a wonderful person to share her life with and look forward to meeting the new addition to the family in December - Dave and Bethany are expecting a baby girl around Christmas time!
The only bad thing about the trip was the speeding ticket I received on the way home. It wasn't my fault, of course, but the office didn't seem to care. Sigh.
